About Just Jude

I grew up on a small farm in Michigan but have always felt the urge to wander and began doing so as a teenager. Since that time, I've hiked, biked and paddled in every season; not for sport, but for the journey.

    • He belongs to Marie (the elderly woman I help). However, he is really mine as she travels a lot. I picked him out and train him. He is bonded to me as his top dog and care giver. Dylan is also special in that he knows that when Marie is here, he is to be with “mommy.” Dylan is a kennel rescue as well.

  2. Awesome! Dogs rock! 🙂
We’ve just took ours to the vets two days ago. It cost more than when I go! 🙂

    • Maybe they charge for both human and dog to walk in the door.
I’ve learned that the Corgi breed is a blast. I’ve always had black lab mix and once a German Short-Haired Pointer. Cool guy. Marie has always raised St. Bernards. Now, we have Dylan. He’s a great little guy – intelligent, happy and has yet to get into trouble. He’s just a good boy. He’s also a food hound. Comes with the breed. He even learn how to open my fridge. Funny but wiped me out.

  3. Wow, you live in a beautiful place, Jude! Great pics and video. I’ve never had experience with the corgi breed but Dylan sounds like a great little guy. I’ve had Australian kelpies, Scotch collies, black labradors and now an ancient 15 year old matese terrierXpoodle (my daughter’s really). They all had different temperaments. The Scotch collie needed jobs that were hers. She was very maternal with the children – extremely gentle with the children and would guard them. The kelpie was fixated on roundind up anything, from sheep to chickens to dragonflies! He would spend hours “eyeing off” birds and insects. The labs loved to wander, dig holes and fetch. Our last little dog is more like a puppy – she is still highly playful and loves squeaky toys – probably the rat-catching terrier part of her.
    Enjoy your gorgeous spring!

    • Glad you love the place. I’m a caretaker here both to help out an “older” woman and work on the property. I love seeing the Presidential Range from my yard. Gee, what’s not to love up here.
Glad you’ve had good experiences with dogs. Horses and dogs are my favorite “tamed” animals to pal around with.

    • Shih Tzu, a little yipper breed as I call them. Fun little balls of fur and imagine even as an elderly, there is still some great vibes and energy.
